I know we are already 5 days into May, but better late than never – right?

Now, that I am officially out of my dastardly reading slump, I’m going to be a bit ambitious and go back to my usual 6 book TBR. But, if I only read two or three of them, its no big deal. I’m just so glad to be reading again.

So without further ado, here are the 6 books I hope to read this month:

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (Currently Reading)

Caliban’s War by James S.A. Corey

This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab (Also, Currently Reading)

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

No Matter the Wreckage by Sarah Kay

Star Wars Ahsoka by E.K. Johnston

I am also really excited about a couple May releases that I hope to be reading as well:

The Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

Have you read and loved any of these? What’s on your list for May?

  1. I read The Upside last month and enjoyed the story though I think I might’ve not been the right audience – the characters felt too young for me. But the writing was really good!

I’m currently still about 130 pages from finishing my re-read of ACOMAF and still waiting for my pre-order of ACOWAR to arrive so I can dive right in once I finish my re-read! I’m also hoping to read This Savage Song before I re-read Lady Midnight and read Lord Of Shadows! But who knows, we’ll see!

    1. That’s the only thing I’m worried about honestly – but the idea of a female main character who isn’t thin was something I had to check out. There isn’t enough body diversity in YA.

Hopefully your copy of ACOWAR comes soon – I’m only 260 pages in, nd its freaking huge! – but I’m loving it so far.

Hopefully you have a great month – I look forward to hearing your thoughts on what you get to read! 🙂

      1. Oh yeah, that was definitely what drew me to the book too as I’m on the overweight side of things too and obviously that doesn’t get portrayed in books often enough! I feel like if I had read this a few years ago I would’ve loved it!

I know! I saw the hardcover compared to the ACOMAF hardcover and it was smaller (probably due to bible pages again) but then I saw a paperback and it looked HUGE. I cannot wait!

Thank you! I hope you have a great month too! Can’t wait to read your thoughts on what you read! Do you have any reviews planned already?

  2. OHH i’m excited for you to read ACOWAR. My copy still hasn’t arrived – in fact – it won’t until the 11th which sucks but in the mean time I’m reading something else. BUT I hope you’re enjoying it 🙂

Also I’d love to read your thoughts on this savage song. it seems like a great book!

    1. Oh, no! At least you only have about a week left to wait. I only about 260 pages in – but I’m loving it so far. I can’t wait to see how it ends.

I will definitely be posting a review of This Savage Song when I get done with it. The premise sounds so interesting! 🙂

      1. I don’t know what’s up with the preorder but I’m taking that time to read the foxhole court which I’m really enjoying so far. Yeah, I love the idea of drawing the line between good and evil and what would even make a character bad or good. It’s that contrast that I like.

  3. I want to read Victoria Swab’s other book, A Darker Shade of Magic, soon! I’m so curious, I have heard many great things about it. Have you read it yet? I can’t wait to read your thoughts on all the books you hope to read in May! Happy reading ♥♥

  4. Ohh This Savage Song and The Upside of Unrequited were two of my favourites!! ❤ I hope you love them. And I can't wait to see what you think of ACoWaR! ❤ Flame in the Mist and Lord of Shadows are both on my list this month too.

  5. I just finished ACOWAR yesterday and I am dying! It was so good! Now there is a huge Rhys shaped hole in my soul because It’s over. And I have also pre-ordered Lord of Shadow, but I haven’t really decided my feelings about this series yet.

Hope you love your reads this month 🙂

  6. Can you believe I haven’t heard of any of these books? Goodness, I’m out of the loop! — For my May TBR: I just started crocheting a blanket for my Uncle, so I’m going to get less read this month. I’m currently reading an ARC of “Meddling Kids” by Edgar Cantero and I hope to finish my audiobook of “Ireland” by Frank Delaney. I really want to get into the books I bought at the Book Fest a couple weekends ago; I think I’m going to start with “The Juliet” by Laura Ellen Scott. 🙂

    1. I really wish I could get into audiobooks. I feel like I could get so much more read and done, but I can’t seem to focus on them.

I may need to give them a go again, but with a book I’ve already read. Maybe that would help me get used to it!
