Review Policy

The thoughts and opinions expressed in my reviews are entirely my own. I am not a professional reviewer, I just love reading and talking about books. I write my reviews just like I talk because I want them to be more like conversations and less like presentations.

I primarily read adult science fiction and fantasy, but I will occasionally review middle grade and young adult novels, graphic novels and comics, and the occasional non-fiction work.

Negative reviews will be written in a respectful and constructive way. I will never attack an author personally, but I will be honest in my critiques of books that I didn’t enjoy.

My reviews will include:
-Book information: author, publisher, release date, pages, & rating
-A Summary: basic information with no spoilers
-My thoughts: both positive and negative reactions to the books

5 Stars: I LOVED it. I think this book is fantastic, and I will recommend it to everyone – whether they are asking for recommendations or not. : )

4 Stars: I REALLY liked it. It is a great book, and I highly recommend it. But, there was an issue or two that kept me from giving it a full 5 stars.

3 Stars: I liked this book. While it wasn’t my favorite, I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to those who are interested in the genre or themes in the book. If it’s a book in a series, I will likely give the next installment a go to see where the characters are headed.

2 Stars: I feel pretty meh about this book. It wasn’t horrible, but I didn’t really enjoy the reading experience. If it is a book in a series, I probably won’t continue reading it.

1 Star: I really didn’t like this book. I didn’t like the characters or the plot, and I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone.
